I’ve heard from a lot of friends about this newer record and how disappointed they were with it. I listened to them because I want to hear peoples take on this kind of stuff. A lot of friends wanted more darkness from Maynard and heavy as hell! I get it, I have to admit that I wanted that too, but if you just let this album speak to you, it can truly turn into life’s everyday nonsense.
If you’ve heard this song and have already wrote it off, give it another shot while watching the video. It sheds light on one of my biggest struggles in our current society. GET THE EFF OFF YOUR PHONE!!!!
Here’s the challenge and point I’m trying to make…
Put the phone down and don’t instill this type of behavior into those that we raise, whether it be our own or anyone for that matter. Every single time I walk into a place full of people, I always take a look around and what I see is very disappointing. 90% are buried in their phone scrolling for nothing with someone that should be getting attention, but that someone is doing the same thing!!
Having a 4 year old little girl and wondering what’s to come her way, this crap frightens me! Our daily life and what we do as humans should not be directed by a device or a social account, ON A DEVICE!!
So… I would like to challenge anyone reading this to walk into a crowded place and the second you enter, just take a look around. Take a look at what you see and challenge me on my point. EVERYONE will be on a device and not facing the most important thing, their company.
We cannot let these things control us… How many times have you heard from friends or relatives that say, are you Facebook official? WTF, is that a real thing?!
Is that where we are? Is this our reality? Anything that’s not on Social Media isn’t real?
I’m pretty damn sure I saw Bigfoot the other day, but I wasn’t sure. However, if I make a statement on social and the internet doesn’t lie, I need to prepare myself for Bigfoot war!!
