This can easily be a very loaded question, but I’ll be clear right out of the gate…
Why do we do this? We do this because we’re family.
Today was special and so was this entire weekend. All of us came together as a family yesterday at my home and it was amazing! Yes, we were missing some key people, but everyone was there in spirit! The belly laughs were so contagious and overpowered the reason why I knew we were all gathered together in the first place. I said to a dear friend… “ it’s unfortunate that something so awful had to get us all together like this” and my friend responded to me very abruptly saying, “we were never apart” and it’s so true!
We’re a very tight and unbreakable group that will stick with each other forever and it’s simply a gift to be a part of, I’m very fortunate and blessed to have them.
So, it’s Easter weekend and we all know that means your weekend is already planned, but honestly, it wasn’t. The only thing that was planned was Easter Sunday and everything before that was very much impromptu. Don’t get me wrong, it wasn’t all rainbows and smiles all around. It had it’s ups and downs, strange corners to turn, and every reason to pivot and so on. However, it was still an amazing weekend and it wouldn’t be possible without all of the people that were and are involved. We laughed together, felt pain together and more importantly, we lifted one of our very own up together. That’s why we do this…
The only blood related family member that was around me this entire weekend was my amazing daughter and my heart couldn’t be more full, becuase outside of blood I have a gigantic family that is full of the same joy and love for one another that I have. I’m so thankfull for all of you that I can call family. Without all of you, life’s challenges wouldn’t be as maneuverable as they are now.
This entire family, that knows who they are, are everything to me. A bond that will live strong forever. A bond that doesn’t judge, or not rise to the ocassion. We will continue to fight for one another, be there when needed, even if we haven’t spoke in months. This is how close we are as a family and I wouldn’t change a damn thing for any reason. Thank you, everyone for being you!!
Side note:
I’ve heard from a bunch of people this weekend that have reached out to me sharing personal thoughts and I want you to know that I’m thinking about all of your messages constantly. Please keep fighting the good fight! I’m always here and please know that tomorrow needs you, as do I!!
I Love you,
B
